2002 – 2003 Season – Great Players

James Beattie
Clubs – Southampton, Everton

James Beattie was the top British goal scorer in the premiership during the 2002/03 season with a total of 23 goals. He helped Southampton reach the FA Cup final the same season and his outstanding performances earned him a call up to the England side. In total Beattie scored 68 goals in his 161 appearances for Southampton. In January 2005 he joined Everton for £6 Million and has already made a huge impact at the club.

Thierry Henry
Clubs – Arsenal
Thierry Henry moved to Arsenal in 1999 and has proven to be one of their most ever valuable players ever. Just before the 2006/07 season, Henry had scored a total of 214 goals in his 324 appearances for Arsenal. He was the premiership’s top scorer during the 2001-02, 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06 season’s. He was named the premiership player of the season in 2006 and has helped Arsenal win numerous trophies over the years since starring for Arsenal.

 

Robert Pires
Clubs – Arsenal
Pires moved to Arsenal in 2000 for £6 million and certainly has not disappointed since moving. His performances during the 2002-03 season was breathtaking, he scored 14 goals which was exceptional for a midfielder and he scored the winning goal for Arsenal in the FA Cup final. His career at Arsenal spanned from 2000-2006, in total he scored 84 goals in his 283 appearances, he won the premier league with Arsenal on two occasions. He also won the FA Cup on three occasions with the Gunners.
